The day at Preston Crown was a good experience, and showed us how the court process works. We travelled on the train to Preston, and it was a bit difficult finding the court, but we managed with the help of an old irish man on a bike.
The first case we saw was a video link up to a prison, where the defendant entered his plea on a big screen in the courtroom, and wasn't actually there.
We then saw a case where a man pleaded guilty to having child pornography.
The final case we saw involved the defendant being cross examined by the prosecution and defence. The defendant was quite thick and didn't argue his case very well. We then saw the prosecution and defence summing up their cases, which was really boring as they went over things again and again.
The experience of going to court was reely good, and for anyone interested in a career of that kind then this would be a beneficial day.

The visit to Preston crown court was a good experience and very educational. Even though we had to wait a while for everybody to arrive. Trying to find the court was a bit hard but this nice little irish man helped us out. He said, " your standing right on top of it now"
although the court was further along the road. We found the courts after wondering around preston and once we got in our first case involved a video link to a prison. It was a new experience and something I wont forget. For people who want to persuae law in the furture it would be a really intresting and educational visit and i would recommend it. XXX
